We are a Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Centre!

Here at Foshan EtonHouse International School, we are very proud to be accepted onto the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award’s scheme.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh International Award?

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a student co-curricular and wellbeing programme that enables students aged 14-24 to be rewarded with an internationally recognized award for their continued pursuit of excellence, resilience and achievement.

Starting in 1956, the award was developed by His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh and Doctor Kurt Hahn, the ‘Father’ of Experiential Education. Being the world’s leading youth achievement award, it is a highly acclaimed award that is undertaken in over 130 countries and territories around the world.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is divided into Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. Young people who have won the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, especially the Gold Award, will be given priority consideration and recognition in future applications for prestigious universities in the UK or other countries, and even future job applications.

Why is it important to us?

Every student shines in different ways that reflect each individual’s personal characteristics. Therefore, in view of their academic development, ability improvement and character shaping, FEIS integrates this concept of holistic education in addition to the British National Curriculum and Cambridge Curriculum. This not only guarantees the quality of academic courses, but also focuses more on the diversity of challenges, such as Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education, University Counselling, Residential Trips, Choir, etc. Whether it is the acquisition of new skills, the improvement of sports ability, or the cultivation of world community awareness, we all hope to help every student to find themselves in this real life process. We believe that now with addition of being the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Centre, our educational approach will empower our young people to be outstanding in this ever changing world.
